What data I process, why and for how long
You write through the contact form
- Data: email, service chosen, message, language of the page
- Why: to reply to your request and prepare a quote
- Legal basis: pre-contractual steps at your request (Art. 6.1.b)
- Retention: the time needed to reply; if no work follows, up to 24 months after the last contact; if it does, for the length of the relationship and then for the legal periods (up to 10 years for accounting and tax records)
You browse the site
- Data: IP address, date and time, page requested, browser and device (technical server logs)
- Why: to run the site, keep it secure and prevent abuse
- Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6.1.f)
- Retention: for the short period set by the server configuration
You use the contact form
- Data: an encrypted version (hash) of your IP address and email, a one-time technical token
- Why: to stop automated spam submissions
- Legal basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6.1.f)
- Retention: IP hash 1 hour, email hash 24 hours, token 6 hours
You choose the site language
- Data: a cookie holding the language
- Why: to remember your choice
- Legal basis: technical necessity
- Retention: 12 months
You accept statistics cookies
- Data: anonymous or pseudonymous browsing data collected by Google Analytics
- Why: to understand how the site is used and improve it
- Legal basis: consent (Art. 6.1.a)
- Retention: according to the retention settings of the Google Analytics account
The message from the contact form reaches my mailbox and is not saved in the site’s database.
Data I don’t collect
I use no advertising or profiling cookies, I don’t sell data and I make no automated decisions about you. I don’t ask for or process special categories of data (health, beliefs and the like): please don’t include them in your message. The site is not aimed at children under 14.
Who I share data with
Data is handled by me and by providers acting as processors or independent controllers, to the extent needed:
- OVH, which hosts the site on servers located in Europe;
- the email service provider I use to receive and answer messages;
- Google, for Google Analytics, only if you accept statistics cookies;
- tax and legal advisers, where the law requires it.
Transfers outside the European Union
The only transfer foreseen is to Google LLC (United States), and only if you accept statistics cookies. It relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or, failing that, the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
At any time you can ask me for access to your data, correction, erasure, restriction of processing, to receive it in a readable format (portability), or to object to processing based on legitimate interest. If you gave consent, you can withdraw it whenever you like: withdrawal doesn’t undo what was done before.
To exercise your rights write to contact@ikwaba.com: I reply within one month. If you think the processing breaks the law, you can complain to the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it) or to your national authority.
Is providing data compulsory?
No. To write to me through the form, though, the email and the message are needed, otherwise I can’t reply. You can also contact me by other means.
